How will my donation be spent, and what % will go to admin etc costs?
Although there are admin costs these are being absorbed by The Mission from another account to ensure all money donated goes to the appeal, we have been fortunate that much has been given free, PR, advertising, printing, artwork and even the expertise behind this website. The appeal is audited by Ernst and Young.
Who are Seafarers?
Seafarers are people who operate the ships that bringing the worlds markets to our country, in the UAE we depend upon seafarers to bring over 99% of all imports to our country, from basic construction raw materials to basic commodities and luxury goods. The vast majority of seafarers come from the developing countries of the world, the biggest proportion are from the Philippines, South East Asia, Russia, China, Turkey and India, less than 5% come from the west.
Who benefits from the Angel Project?
All seafarers whose ships use the east coast anchorage of the UAE, the 2nd largest anchorage in the world, every race of seafarer, every type of ship will benefit equally in using the telecommunications, internet, home away from home facilities aboard. These will be delivered to the crew of the ships at anchor as the Angel operates out to sea.
When will the Angel Support Boat be launched and in operation?
The Angel is due to be completed in December 2006 if all the funds are raised in time, and will be operational from the beginning of 2007.
